Frozen ever after queue line epcot9/27/2023 ![]() ![]() Have you noticed a change in guests behavior since the start of Genie+? Let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment below or on our Facebook page. As a result, we are expecting to see a reduction in the amount of issues seen in the parks between guests and guests and cast members meaning security guards in queues will hopefully be a thing of the past. We are hoping Disney will use this new system to be able to manage more successfully the amount of guests choosing Genie+ in order to avoid issues of over subscribing which has left many guests frustrated and disappointed. Last week we heard that as of June 8, Disney Genie+ will no longer be available to purchase before the day of your visit, meaning guests will have to be up early to get onto My Disney Experience App to purchase it at 7:00AM on the day of their visit. It is certainly disappointing to see a security guard placed in a queue at what should be "the happiest place on Earth" but this type of incident unfortunately seems to be becoming more the norm. The attraction was moved from Individual Lightning Lane selection to the Genie+ Lightning Lane selection back in February and is set to remain until at least August 7. Whatever the reason was that prompted this decision it is indeed disturbing that it was needed at all.įrozen Ever After is one of the most popular attractions at EPCOT meaning it often has a very long queue making altercations between guests especially at the merge point between standby and Genie+ a likely place for potential problems. Indeed it could have been for a completely different reason entirely but for Disney to make the decision to have a security guard placed in the queue at the merge point there was obviously an incident or issue which they felt warranted back up. There have been numerous complaints online from guests saying that the Genie+ Lightning Lane moves very quickly and the standby line just remains stuck. With crowds extremely high at the parks and tension continuing surrounding Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes, we assume guests frustrations were boiling over which prompted the decision for Disney to station a security guard at that point in the Frozen Ever After Queue. The highlight of the voyage is a visit to Elsa’s palace, where the Ice Queen makes it snow - with the help of special effects and screen projections - as she sings “Let It Go.” After parting a mist cloud, the ride concludes with a fireworks finale and a send-off from the main characters. In a season where you can hardly read anything about Walt Disney World without seeing a story about guests behaving badly, it seems like Disney had to install a security guard in the Frozen Ever After queue at EPCOT over the weekend.Ī Disney Fan posted a photo of a Disney security guard stood at the merge point between stand by and Genie+ Lightning Lane guests on Saturday May 21.The tweet is embedded below. Once aboard the Viking logs, riders will spot Sven the reindeer helping set up for the Winter in Summer festival, float past an ice-skating Olaf the snowman, encounter the giant evil snowman Marshmallow and meander through Troll Valley, where Grandpappy Troll tells the story of how Princess Anna and trader Kristof met. In the queue, visitors will wander past Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, where the thick-accented trader wipes steam off the windows and yells his trademark “Yoo-hoo!” Visitors walk through what Disney Imagineers refer to as “scene one” while waiting in line for Frozen Ever After. The attraction’s backstory takes riders to a Winter in Summer celebration in which Queen Elsa uses her magical powers to make it snow on a sunny day in Arendelle, a fictional waterfront village based on Scandinavian architecture, geography, culture and mythology. Similar technology was employed with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Florida’s Magic Kingdom and Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Anaheim’s Disney California Adventure.Įxpect to hear “For the First Time in Forever,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “Let It Go” throughout the attraction as well as other songs, with slightly-altered lyrics, from movie composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. The animatronic figures will use rear-projection technology that make the animated faces of the characters look more lifelike. This is not a super rare occurrence as Frozen Ever After is an incredibly popular attraction, and during the pandemic, the queue has been known to stretch beyond the entrance to the Norway pavilion. The renovated ride uses Maelstrom’s existing Viking ships and water flume with a new overlay of “Frozen” scenes. ![]() Frozen Ever After replaces the 1988 Maelstrom log ride that took visitors on a tour through Norwegian mythology.
